Connections opened a 16-bed women’s residential drug and alcohol treatment facility in Wilmington in 2016.

The program is specifically designed to meet the needs of women in recovery from substance use disorders. It has 24-hour treatment staff and serves all women regardless of their ability to pay for services.

The central theme of the service model is that everyone can achieve recovery. Staff is trained in several treatment methods that empower clients to increase their readiness to embrace treatment and to change their behaviors. Staff collaborates with each client to instill hope and motivation to reach their recovery goals.

We employ peer specialists and recovery coaches to ensure the clients get linked to all appropriate recovery supports.

The program includes a relapse-prevention component to help ensure success once the clients are discharged.
