DUI Out-Patient Treatment Program
What is DUI Out-Patient Treatment Program?
The client referred to the program will receive a minimum of 16 hours of treatment services and will cost a state-mandated fee of $750. Typically, the client will be referred to a program in the client’s county of residence, but may request a referral to any of the three counties in Delaware. A urine-drug screen (UDS) will be administered to every client upon enrollment of the program. An additional UDS will be administered at some random point during the program.
What Do I Need to do to Complete Treatment?
The client must attend all scheduled classes, pay the fee, and get a passing grade (80% or greater) on a standardized content test; the client must also complete the requirements of the program within 90 days of the referral. Participation must be evident and the client must present an acceptable DUI Avoidance Plan. Attendance at an addiction-focused community support group is also required.
What to do if I get a DUI?
- Go to court at your assigned date and time.
- If convicted, the court will order that you complete a screening at the Delaware Evaluation and Referral Program (DERP) within 10 days.
- DERP will complete your screening and make a recommendation for program level of treatment, provide a supervisory clinical review, and make a referral to Delaware contracted DUI provider agency.
- If the recommendation is for treatment you may select one of Connections Community Support DUI Programs at this point.
- DERP will enter your information in state-wide DUI tracking system and you will be instructed to call Connections to schedule your orientation.
