When making a donation to Connections, always check with your employer to see if your company matches charitable donations and if Connections meets your corporation's matching gifts criteria.
Consider honoring the birthdays and anniversaries of your loved ones with a gift to Connections.
Keep a friend or loved one’s spirit alive through a donation to Connections in their name.
A planned gift to Connections, by way of your will, estate, stocks, and financial holdings, will help ensure that the services and programs we provide to Delaware’s vulnerable and disenfranchised will continue into the future. You may realize the dual benefits when contributing appreciated stocks and bonds – first, an income deduction is received for the fair value of the securities at the time they are given; second, you may not have to pay capital gains taxes on the appreciated value. Property, such as real estate, also may be donated to Connections. Please contact Connections’ Development Director for more information at 302-230-9127 or info@connectionscsp.org.
Connections is a United Way of Delaware partner agency. Your United Way pledge will help us provide necessary services to Delawareans in need. Our designation code is 9014.
You can donate your unwanted vehicle to Connections and receive a tax deduction. Please contact Connections’ Development Director for more information at 302-230-9127 or info@connectionscsp.org.
You can make a gift and still receive a lifetime income return through a gift annuity, a pooled income fund, or a charitable remainder trust. Though the funds may not be available to Connections immediately, as a donor you would be entitled to an income tax deduction equal to the value of the gift in the year it is made, in addition to receiving regular income payments for your lifetime. There also are ways to make a gift through a charitable gift annuity, remainder trust, or charitable trust that allow you to retain the principal for your family.
A paid life insurance policy that is no longer needed for its original purpose can be of significant value to Connections. You may receive an income tax deduction for the “case surrender” value of the policy. If the policy is not fully paid and you continue to pay the premiums, deductions can be taken for the amount of payments completed. Connections also may be included as a beneficiary on life insurance policies. Any portion given to Connections is deductible for estate tax purposes.
Retirement accounts such as an IRA, 401(k), or 403(b) can provide gift opportunities which may reduce income and estate taxes.
Each contribution, large and small, brings us closer to fulfilling our mission. In-kind gifts enable us to provide the individuals we serve with items they greatly need. The following in-kind items are needed:
